Kate for Congress Announces More Endorsements
CINCINNATI –Kate Schroder’s campaign for Congress (OH-01) announced three new endorsements on Tuesday, another sign of the campaign’s growing momentum.
Kate for Congress announced the endorsements of Denise Driehaus (Hamilton County Commissioner), David Mann (Cincinnati City Councilmember) and Lakshmi Sammarco (Hamilton County Coroner).
Denise Driehaus is a lifelong resident of Hamilton County. She is honored to serve her hometown as Vice President of the Board of County Commissioners. Prior to her service as a Commissioner, Denise served 4 terms in the Ohio House of Representatives. Before entering public service full time, she owned and managed two small businesses. She understands many of the hurdles facing small businesses and economic development. As a legislator, Denise brought a collaborative and bipartisan approach to pass laws relating to Education, Job Creation, and the Opioid Crisis. Denise worked with other representatives from our region to secure state funding for economic and neighborhood development projects in Hamilton County.
David Mann was elected in November 2017 to serve on Cincinnati City Council. He previously served on council for more than 20 years, including three distinguished years as mayor. David was elected to the 103rd Congress as the representative from Ohio’s 1st Congressional District, which then included most of the city. David’s earliest public service was serving in the United States Navy for four years. As a lieutenant, David served on the U.S.S. English (DD-696), a destroyer that was one of the first ships to reach Cuban waters during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Prior to active duty in the Navy, David attended Harvard College on a Navy R.O.T.C. scholarship and was selected as the midshipman commander of the Naval R.O.T.C. battalion at Harvard. David graduated cum laude with a major in biochemical sciences. After his Navy service, David attended Harvard Law School where he was an editor of the Harvard Law Review and graduated magna cum laude.
Lakshmi Kode Sammarco, MD is the Hamilton County Coroner and a board certified neuroradiologist who is in clinical practice in Cincinnati, Ohio. She founded and runs NeuroRadPro LLC. Dr. Sammarco’s company provides specialized consulting services in neuroradiology and general radiology for large and small cities across the United States. Dr. Sammarco is currently licensed in nine states. In addition to providing clinical services, Dr. Sammarco provides consulting services for Quality Control and Medical Director services for other teleradiology businesses in the United States.
